Lactose Anhydrous
Overview
Product details
Lactose is a carbohydrate derived from whey and naturally present in dairy products. It is enzymatically broken down in the human body into glucose and galactose, providing a readily available source of energy.
Anhydrous Lactose is produced by removing the crystallization water from lactose, resulting in extremely low moisture content and enhanced stability. This makes it particularly suitable for moisture-sensitive formulations.
Compared to lactose monohydrate, it offers better flowability, reduced hygroscopicity, and improved protection for active ingredients during processing and storage.
Due to its superior stability and performance, anhydrous lactose is widely used in high-end pharmaceutical formulations, including tablets, capsules, and dry powder products where low moisture content is critical.
